How can I learn about my different cycle phases?

To help you learn about your different cycle phases and hormonal changes, we’ve built Cycle Phase Insights. It’s designed to bring clarity, guidance, and community connection to your menstrual cycle experience.

This science-led feature provides an overview of the cycle phase you’re currently in, as well as real-time insight into what’s happening hormonally and how that influences your mood, energy, focus, symptoms, and daily experience.

As you move from one cycle phase to the next, the overview will update with new information. There are six hormonal subphases in total: early follicular, late follicular, ovulation, early luteal, mid luteal, and late luteal. You’ll only be able to see information about the current phase you’re in, not about past or future phases.

There are three ways to access the overview in the Clue app:

  • From the main Cycle View, by scrolling down the page.
  • From the Calendar View, by tapping on the current date and then tapping “Find out more” in the bottom sheet that appears.
  • From the Analysis Tab, by scrolling down to the section called “Your cycle phase”.

You can also set reminders that will inform you when you’ve entered a new cycle phase. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Open your Clue app.
  2. Go to the More Menu, the ‘=’ in the top-right corner of your Cycle View.
  3. Tap “Reminders and notifications”.
  4. Tap “Cycle phases”.
  5. Toggle on the reminder, and set your preferred time to be sent the notification.

Please note this feature is only available in Clue Period Tracking mode for now, and it won’t be visible if you’ve set a hormonal birth control method in your health profile in the More Menu.
