How does Clue calculate fetal size and weight?

The fetal size and weight shown in the Clue app for each week of pregnancy are based on estimates. These measurements are shown so that you can have a rough idea of how big your fetus is in each stage of pregnancy. They are not exact measurements and your fetus can be smaller or bigger.

You may read varied measurements elsewhere because different sources can base calculations on different standards. For example, the sex of the fetus can affect how fast it grows. The way pregnancies are dated can also vary, which then affects size and weight calculations.

Our Science Team reviews this information regularly and updates the content in the Clue app with more accurate information or sources when they become available.
