How can I manage my data processing for this feature?

Our commitment to giving Clue users granular control over how their data is processed is unchanged. This is why we’ve created a new type of data processing for AI features in our privacy settings that users can either agree to or not.

When you first open the Chat With Your Data feature, you’ll be asked whether you agree to AI processing your health and conversation data. This permission is needed to provide the Chat With Your Data service.

This means if you’d like to use this feature, then you must give your consent by tapping “I agree”. If you choose to decline, then AI processing will not occur and the Chat With Your Data feature will become hidden (read more about disabling here).

If you give your consent but then change your mind, you can turn this data processing off at any time in your privacy settings by following these steps

For more information on the types of data processed for this feature, please read the summary below and Section 3.1.7 of our Privacy Policy.

Health data:

If you agree to the AI data processing, health data you have tracked in the app will be processed. This is required to provide insights and answers that are personalized to you, which is the core function of this feature.

The AI cannot identify you when it processes your tracking dataset, as it can only see a random user ID. Please note that if you enter any personal identifying information into the chat yourself, then the AI will process this information as outlined in “Conversation data” below.

Please note that while the AI will process your health data to answer questions, your data is never used to train the large language model (LLM), or any other AI model.

Conversation data:

If you agree to the AI data processing, conversation data you enter into the chat (e.g. your questions, any contextual information relevant to your query) will be processed. This is required to understand what you’re asking the chat to answer, and to operate, maintain, secure and improve the AI functionality.

Within the feature, you have the option to clear your conversation history. When conversations are cleared, they are removed from the app interface. The data however remains on Clue’s backend. It will be permanently deleted when you delete your Clue account, or if you send us a request to wipe your data.

If you have given your consent to the data processing type “Improve features with health analytics”, then your conversation data is also analyzed for these purposes.
