The Clue app is available to young people to help them navigate their first years of getting periods.
Because of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements, you must be of a certain age to give valid consent to the processing of your health data. Based on this, we follow these guidelines:
- When first using the Clue app, you’re required to confirm whether you’re 16 years old or not.
-
If you’re not 16 years old, then you’re required to ask your parent/guardian for:
- Their permission for you to use the Clue app
- Their help to set up your privacy settings
- If you’re located in the United States, you cannot use the Clue app if you’re under 13 years old due to US child protection laws. Read here for more details.
For more information on this, check our section 8 of our Privacy Policy and section 1.4 of our Terms of Service.
If you’re a parent and learn that your child is using Clue without your permission, or if you have a specific question about data privacy at Clue, do not hesitate to get in touch with us via our contact form.
