I’m not receiving my reminders. What can I do?

If you’re not receiving reminders from Clue, make sure your notifications are turned on in your device’s settings. 

Follow the steps below, depending on your device. In some cases, Android devices have a setting that prevents apps from sending notifications when the app has not been active. This setting needs to be turned off for the Clue app to send you reminders.

iOS

  1. Open ‘Settings’ in your iOS device.
  2. Tap ‘Clue’ among the list of installed apps.
  3. Tap ‘Notifications’. 
  4. Toggle on ‘Allow Notifications’.

Devices with Marshmallow OS or above (Android 6.0+)

Exclude Clue from battery optimization:

  1. Open ‘Settings’ in your device.
  2. Find and tap ‘Battery’. 
  3. Find and tap ‘Battery Optimization’. 
  4. Tap ‘All apps’.
  5. Find Clue and select ‘Don’t optimize’.

Huawei

Exclude Clue from battery optimization:

  1. Open ‘Settings’ in your device.
  2. Tap ‘Apps’
  3. Tap ‘Advanced Settings’.
  4. Tap ‘Ignore battery optimizations’.
  5. Toggle on Clue.

List Clue as a protected app:

  1. Open ‘Settings’ in your device.
  2. Tap ‘Advanced Settings’.
  3. Tap ‘Battery Manager’.
    • On Huawei Honor 6, this will be called ‘Power Saving’.
  4. Tap ‘Protected apps’.
  5. Toggle on Clue.

OnePlus

Exclude Clue from battery optimization:

  1. Open ‘Settings’ in your device.
  2. Tap ‘Battery’.
  3. Tap ‘Battery Optimization’.
  4. Tap ‘Apps not optimized’.
  5. Tap ‘All apps’.
  6. Find Clue and select ‘Don’t optimize’.

Turn on auto-start for Clue:

  1. Open ‘Settings’ in your device.
  2. Tap ‘Apps’.
  3. Tap the gear icon ⚙️.
  4. Tap ‘App AutoLaunch’.
  5. Toggle on Clue.

Samsung

Exclude Clue from battery optimization:

  1. Open ‘Settings’ in your device.
  2. Tap ‘Device management’.
    • On some devices, this could be called ‘Device care’.
  3. Tap ‘Battery’.
  4. Tap ‘Unmonitored apps’.
    • On some devices, this could be called ‘Apps that won’t be put to sleep’.
  5. Add Clue to the list.

Turn on auto-start for Clue:

  1. Open ‘Settings’ in your device.
  2. Tap ‘Security’.
  3. Tap ‘Auto-start Management’.
  4. Set Clue to ‘Allowed’. 

Turn off background data setting:

  1. Open ‘Settings’ in your device.
  2. Tap ‘Apps’.
  3. Tap Clue.
  4. Tap ‘Battery’.
  5. Toggle on ‘Allow background activity’.

OPPO 

Exclude Clue from battery optimization:

  1. Open ‘Settings’ in your device.
  2. Tap ‘Apps’.
  3. Tap ‘Advanced’.
  4. Tap ‘Ignore Battery Optimizations’.
  5. Toggle on Clue.

List Clue as a protected app:

  1. Open ‘Settings’ in your device.
  2. Tap ‘Advanced Settings’.
  3. Tap ‘Battery Manager’.
  4. Tap ‘Protected Apps’.
  5. Toggle on Clue.

Xiaomi

Turn on auto-start for Clue:

  1. Open the ‘Security’ app on your device.
  2. Tap ‘Permissions’.
  3. Tap ‘Autostart’.
  4. Toggle on Clue.

Vivo

Turn on auto-start for Clue:

  1. Open ‘Manager’ in your device.
  2. Tap ‘App Manager’.
  3. Tap ‘Autostart manager’.
    • On some devices, ‘Autostart manager’ can be found under ‘Settings’ > ‘More settings’ > ‘Applications’ > ‘Autostart’. 
  4. Toggle on Clue.

Lenovo 

Turn on auto-start for Clue:

  1. Open ‘Settings’ in your device.
  2. Tap ‘Power Manager’.
  3. Tap ‘Background app management’.
  4. Toggle on ‘Allow auto-start’ for Clue.
