What kind of data is shown in the report for my doctor?

The report for your doctor is designed to help healthcare providers identify patterns in your cycle and symptom tracking, rather than focus on individual events or entries.

The report includes optional fields like your name, age, health conditions, medications, and birth control. It’s not mandatory to fill these in, but we encourage you to do this as it’s helpful for doctor visits.

The report will also show the following Clue data: your cycle history, period history, cycle statistics, and an overview of your tracking data from your last 6 cycles.

Your tracking data is displayed in a visual graph, sometimes known as a "heatmap". The graph shows when symptoms and other tracked data tend to occur across your cycle. The numbers indicate how often an experience occurred over the 6 cycles, and what specific cycle day they were tracked. Your period data will always appear at the top of the graph, followed by your other data in order of most tracked to less tracked.

Please note, your report does not include everything you track. You can read more below about what data is excluded from the report and why.

  • Data tracked less than 3 times: There is a minimum tracking requirement for tracking options to appear on the graph. Experiences will only appear if you tracked them 3 or more times across the 6 cycles covered within the report. Any symptoms tracked less than 3 times are excluded from the report. This is because the report focuses on recurring symptoms, behaviors, and observations that can help reveal cycle-related trends over time.
  • “Single event” data: To keep the report focused on cycle-related trends, the graph does not show tracking categories that record events which typically only occur once and are more meaningful when viewed with their exact dates. These categories include:

    • Tests (except positive and negative ovulation test results, which still appear in the report)
    • Appointments
    • Medications
    • Ailments
    • Birth control methods: pill, IUD, shot, implant, and ring
    • Daily notes

These types of entries are less useful when summarized as frequency patterns across a cycle.

  • Temperature and weight data: Temperature and weight entries are not included in the report because they are continuous measurements rather than tracked categories. The heatmap is designed to summarize patterns in tracked categories, not numeric measurements.
