What kind of temperature data does Clue receive from my wearable?

The specific temperature data Clue receives depends on the wearable you have connected:

  • Oura Ring: Clue receives your temperature trends, which represent the deviation from your personal temperature baseline.
  • Other wearables: Clue receives the latest skin temperature readings that are measured by your wearable. For this reason, the value you see in Clue may be, in some cases, different from the value you see in your wearable app.

Is the temperature data from my wearable the same as Basal Body Temperature (BBT)?

No. The temperature pulled from wearables is not the same as Basal Body Temperature (BBT).

BBT is a specific measurement taken immediately upon waking, before any activity. Wearable devices measure either skin temperature or temperature trends, which are influenced by different factors and are not considered a direct BBT measurement. Nonetheless, skin temperature can also be an insightful tool for understanding changes in your body, because increases in BBT almost always coincide with increases in skin temperature.

To have Basal Body Temperature (BBT) data reflected in the Clue app, you must continue to track it manually.

Where can I find the temperature data from my wearable in the Clue app?

To view the temperature data synced from your connected wearable, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Analysis tab.
  2. Tap on “Temperature trends”.

This section displays the temperature data (temperature trends or skin temperature) pulled directly from your device.

Where can I find my manually tracked Basal Body Temperature (BBT) data?

If you manually track your BBT, you can view your chart separately:

  1. Go to the Analysis tab.
  2. Tap on “Basal Body Temperature”.
