Clue Birth Control is powered by an algorithm that was developed by researchers at the Institute for Reproductive Health at Georgetown University (IRH). The algorithm was incorporated into an app called DOT (Dynamic Optimal Timing) and tested in a clinical trial to determine its effectiveness in preventing pregnancy. The clinical trial followed 718 women in the United States of America for up to 13 cycles each, including a total of 6,616 cycles. The study protocols and results were peer-reviewed by other scientists and clinicians and published in a respected medical journal. Based on the results of this study, Clue Birth Control is 92% effective with typical use and 97% effective with perfect use.
